Instructions for Candy Cane Decor Craft Idea

Step 1

Begin by applying a line of hot glue to the bottom edge of the foam cone. Firmly press the nautical rope onto the glue.

Step 2

Continue adding lines of hot glue around the cone, pressing the nautical rope on top as you go. Repeat this process until the entire cone is covered.

Step 3

Once you reach the top, trim any excess rope. Apply a final dab of hot glue and press the remaining rope securely into place.

Step 4

Next, count the rows of rope on the cone and divide them evenly to plan for painting.

Apply three coats of yellow chalk paint, followed by three coats of orange and then three coats of white chalk paint, ensuring full coverage.

You can also use regular paint, but you will need more coats to get fuller coverage.

Allow each section of paint to dry completely before moving on to the next color.

And that should do it.

I just love how this turned out. It’s a great project to do with the kids as well.
